Carmen Fuentes — Project & Product ManagerProject & Product Manager
I don't start by proposing solutions.
I start by asking the right questions.
Because understanding people creates better products than trying to guess what they need.
No empiezo planteando soluciones.

Great products don't add more.
They make life easier.Los grandes productos no añaden más.
Hacen la vida más fácil.
The best products remove uncertainty, save time, and find simple ways to make something truly better.
I don't believe great products come from brilliant ideas.
I believe they come from asking better questions and understanding people.
My work starts long before the first interface.
Before the roadmap.
Before the prototype.
Before the first line of code.
It starts with uncertainty.
And the truth is, uncertainty isn't the enemy.
Thinking we have certainty is.
A good approach never starts with someone claiming to have the solution.
It starts with someone brave enough to say:
"I don't think we understand the problem yet."
That's where real work begins.
Understanding people's points of friction.
Challenging assumptions.
Looking for evidence instead of opinions.
Being willing to change your mind when the evidence says you should.
My goal is, and has always been, to build environments where curiosity is stronger than ego.
Where evidence matters more than opinions.
Where changing your mind is a sign of learning, not weakness.
Where saying "I was wrong" has value, because it means we're now a little closer to the solution.
Because every hour we spend building the wrong thing is an hour we'll never get back.
That's why I don't enjoy adding complexity.
I enjoy removing it.
Even when something looks good, I always ask myself the same question:
Can this be simpler?
Whether I'm watching someone use a product or scheming inside my own head, I'm always looking for the same things:
What's the unnecessary step.
Where's the hidden frustration.
What's the question that still has no answer.
What small change creates the biggest improvement.
And, most importantly, what will turn uncertainty into confidence.
Because that moment changes everything.
A great product isn't the one with the most features.
It's the one that, almost without you noticing, makes life easier.
If someone can get what they need with less effort,
then we've done something that truly matters.
That's the kind of work I want to dedicate my career to.
Not building more.
Building better.
Creating with the goal of making people's lives better.
PrinciplesPrincipios
I pay close attention to what frustrates people, even the things they don't say explicitly.
I look for the friction hidden between the lines and turn those clues into simple solutions.
The goal isn't just to solve the problem.
It's to solve it in a way that makes people wonder why it was ever difficult, or why it took so long.
I naturally notice what isn't working, what's unclear, what's inefficient, and what could be done better.
But having a critical eye doesn't mean creating friction within the team. Quite the opposite.
Feedback should be honest, direct and constructive.
No drama. No ego.
Once I spot a problem, I show why it matters and we find a better way forward.
I can't imagine my life without learning something new, questioning what I already know, and trying to get better at what I do.
New industries. New disciplines. New technologies. New perspectives.
I have a curiosity that's hard to satisfy. And I don't see growth as a destination.
There's always another level to explore.
Leading means rolling up your sleeves and working side by side with your team.
When the pressure rises, I'm there with the team to ease it. When a problem shows up, I'm usually the first to grab it and look for a way out. And when the road gets hard, my job is to clear it so my team can keep moving forward.
I truly invest in the people I work with. And when the team feels the project is theirs too, commitment to the product comes naturally.
I lead by doing, by taking responsibility, and by getting people genuinely involved so we move forward as a team.
I don't wait for someone to assign me a problem or a task.
When I see something that needs fixing, especially something stuck in limbo, I pick it up and adopt it as if it had always been mine.
If needed, I bring the right people together to understand what's really going on, and I keep pushing until the problem stops being one.
The motto isn't "I do it all."
It's:
If I see a problem nobody's solving, I don't step over it as if I hadn't seen it. I stay with it until it's resolved.

I have a curiosity that's hard to satisfy.
Always exploring, learning and growing.
There are simply too many things I want to experience.
So I learn. I build. I try. I improve. I make it mine. And then something else sparks my curiosity.
I need to be good at everything I do, but not necessarily master it like some guru. My intention is to find out how far I can take it, make each new curiosity part of me, and keep moving forward.
Life's too short to always order the same flavour of ice cream.
Tengo una curiosidad difícil de saciar.
Siempre estoy explorando, aprendiendo y creciendo.
Simplemente hay demasiadas cosas que quiero experimentar.
Así que aprendo. Construyo. Pruebo. Mejoro.
Kuro, my inseparable Belgian Shepherd, and I spend our time outside work playing, exploring and taking on new challenges. With him, there's never a boring or quiet moment. He brings me back to a simpler version of myself, one that enjoys every moment.
My partner introduced me to the world of motorcycles, and because it mattered to him, I wanted to make it mine too. I learned to ride properly so I could feel the adrenaline right behind his wheel. We've enjoyed many weekends of curves with no fixed destination.
I love making things with my hands: furniture, lamps, murals, experiments that end up turning into projects. The best part isn't the finished piece — it's getting it wrong, adjusting, and finally seeing something that used to exist only in my head.
I recently stepped away from World of Warcraft after 15 years growing my character. Looking back doesn't feel like wasted time — it feels like the moment I decided to have another family to keep growing with, in a parallel world.
Recientemente he dejado World of Warcraft después de 15 años haciendo crecer a mi personaje.
Heavy metal runs through my veins, in all its forms and variations. I spend all the time I can practising, hoping to one day play guitar like Jim Root and sing like Alissa White-Gluz. Because there's nothing more relaxing than a guttural voice singing a ballad 🤘.

AboutSobre mí
I'm Carmen Fuentes, Project & Product Manager, but with a software engineer's blood.
After my time as a software developer, I spent over 10 years leading Metronia's games lab, coordinating the development, design and testing teams and managing the software products built within the company. Never from above — always working alongside the team, getting into the problems, and looking for the friction points we could improve. Today I'm proud to say I introduced tools, processes and ways of working that improved efficiency and communication, both within the department and with the rest of the company.
My passion has always been creating products that make people's lives easier and give them back time for what truly matters.
I have a solid technical foundation that lets me learn and adapt quickly, while also understanding and speaking the technical team's language and acting as the connecting point between technology and the rest of the departments.
I'm passionate about challenges. They keep me awake and push me to keep growing. Learning is never a chore for me — quite the opposite: I need to discover new things, ask myself questions, and shift perspective. Curiosity is what keeps me moving.
Me mantienen despierta y me empujan a seguir creciendo.
